Karumba to Home

Arrived in Karumba the weather was great , set up camp at the Karumba Point tourist park, really good park, clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Went for a drive around the point  and then got fish and chips for dinner. Got barramundi and king salmon and the nicest chips and we drove out to the sand dune to have out dinner while watching the sunset 😊
Went to the barramundi centre which was very interesting and we watched Barra feeding. Got fresh cooked prawns at the van park with home made seafood sauce, yum
Left Karumba and headed towards Julia Creek via Bourke and Wills Roadhouse. The weather has turned cold with 5deg at Julia creek and windy then on to Barcaldine where we had a lovely campfire dinner while listening to a guy singing country, great atmosphere. On to Mitchell and it got colder -2deg. Had a fantastic overnight stay at my sisters place before heading home .

Cairns to Normanton

Heading out along the wheelbarrow way towards Chillagoe
, the road was mainly bitumen but had a lot more dirt the closer you got to town. Set up camp in the van park then went to “the Hub” info centre booked a cave tour for tomorrow morning. Then drove out to the smelters had a walk around then went out to the weir, very pretty.
The cave we toured was the Trezkin cave it was a very pretty cave and the tour guide “Dave “ was very informative on the history, took about an hour to tour through.
Then it was on yo Mt Surprise and stayed at Bedrock village, what a great park.then on to Croydon then Normanton , managed to see the “gulf lander” train

Bramwell Roadhouse to Cairns

The Road was corrugated we think a lot worst that when on our trip up , the sections of bitumen helped, they were more frequent that 8 years ago when we were up here last.
We Made it to Hann River where we set up camp, lovely spot with lots of different. Animals roaming around including Aussie the emu. We ran into friends on the road Dennis and Wendy and stopped and had a chat they were heading to Weipa. Spent the next night at Mt Carbine which was a good little park. Then did a stop at Coffee works at Mareeba, this was great, very interesting.
Before arriving back at Cool Waters Holiday Park Cairns for a few days where Nic leaves us and we continue on the next leg of our journey.

Loyalty Beach to Bramwell Roadhouse

It rained on and off up at our camp at Loyalty Beach but we really enjoyed our time here, but time to head back down so we visited the wharf at Seisa before fueling up and heading back to the ferry at the Jardine river crossing. It was then back into the corrugations on the Peninsula Development Road we did a quick drive into Nolan’s Brook , that has changed a lot it now has 5 entrances or attempt points where it use to have 2.
Then we stopped of at fruit bat falls and walked out to the falls still a pretty place.
Then on to Bramwell roadhouse where we camped the night
