Broome W.A.

The road to and from Mitchell Falls was rough and corrugated but to the locals it was in pretty good condition. Back on to the Gibb River Road , the day was overcast and dark clouds were looming on the horizon in front we set up camp at Silent Grove campground just before the rain. The next morning under grey skies we headed off,  destination Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek, we had heard the there had been a lot more rain on the road to Windjana Gorge and the tales were true . The road was that slippery, that smaller cars were just sliding off the road into the gutter. We made it in , spent the day exploring the gorge and walking tunnel creek . The ranger said they were thinking of closing the road, so our decision was to head out before the next downpour , we headed to Derby where we spent a couple of nights before the welcome tar road in to Broome , first stop high pressure car wash.
